With the busy holiday season upon us, it’s a great time to give your fridge a bit of an organizing makeover to make it more easily accessible (and visually appealing) for all the traffic it’s getting. Whether you’ve been putting off reorganizing your fridge or just want a few more ideas on making it more functional, I talked to professional organizers to share their insights on which products are the best storage solutions on the market.

So you can spend less time searching through expired products in the back of the top shelf, and spend more time with family in the hearth of your home, I reached out to Marie Mandeville, pro organizer and founder of Tailor My Space; Kenzie Harkey, founder and CEO of Simply Dare; and Raychel Klein, pro organizer, certified KonMari consultant, and founder of Raybaybay, to share their top fridge organizer picks.

What to Do Before You Get a New Fridge Organizer

“Before buying fridge organizing products, declutter and organize your fridge first to narrow down which products you need,” recommends Harkey. “Once you categorize everything and organize it to your liking, take some measurements and then you will know what sizes you need for products.”

After you do that, consider the pros’ favorite picks for bins, turntables, labels, and organizers for cans, eggs, and fridge exteriors.

The Best Bin for Your Fridge

Mandeville likes these stackable bins that have a pull-out drawer and are great at optimizing vertical space. From deli meats to fruits and vegetables, these bins keep your food fresh and accessible. Although they aren’t dishwasher-safe, they’re definitely a great option for creating more shelf room. If you’re looking for something to organize smaller snacks like string cheese and protein bars, Mandeville also recommends these bins with dividers to keep your snacks separated. “I believe in taking items out of the larger packaging and making sure they are actually accessible,” she says.

The Best Turntable for Your Fridge

A turntable with a smooth-spinning construction is an excellent way to organize your fridge’s top shelves. You can quickly and efficiently find what you need, plus it’s a great place to keep your most-used condiments and sauces off the door and readily accessible. “I love this turntable because the silicone liner holds glass bottles in place to prevent them from falling over and breaking,” says Harkey.

The Best Fridge Exterior Organizer

Once you’ve organized the inside of your fridge, you can move on to organizing its exterior. This organizer can fit a paper towel roll, utensils, a dish towel, oils, and condiments that don’t need to be refrigerated. Best of all, it has a magnetic backing that’ll stay put on the side of your fridge and free up much-needed counter and fridge space. Harkey recommends this organizer for small living spaces that typically require supplemental storage areas.

The Best Can Organizer for Your Fridge

Even if it’s not your turn to BYOB to the holiday party this year, Klein says a can organizer is a must-have for every fridge, as you can “take advantage of the depth of your fridge and maximize space,” she says. Whether you’re storing soda, sparkling water, or beer cans, this dispenser will allow you to see how many cans you have left. The removable lid also makes it stackable and gives you additional storage space for smaller items like yogurt cups and jam jars.

The Best Egg Organizer for Your Fridge

Egg organizers can be controversial since the carton the eggs come in serve as useful and recyclable storage. A clear egg holder, however, is beneficial for clearly keeping track of how many eggs you have left. This sturdy holder can hold up to 18 eggs, has a smooth pull-out tray so you can access eggs without taking out the entire organizer, and it can be stacked with up to two other egg holders.

The Best Labels for Your Fridge

Although most fridge organizers are made of a clear or mostly transparent plastic, labels can be extra helpful to avoid searching through the fridge and letting out that precious cold air. Mandeville recommends these labels for those who like to decant food into separate bottles and containers. While labels are not always necessary for fridge organization, for Mandeville they’re “the icing on the cake!”
