Several years ago my husband and I went to a friend’s house for casual dinner. When we arrived the night’s menu was sweetly written upon a chalkboard in her kitchen; it somehow marked the occasion, making it a special event. Ever since I’ve loved the idea of displaying the menu you’ve prepared in a special way.

This great idea from Nest of Posies is a simple DIY to accomplish. By finding a tray she no longer used for hosting and applying a coat of chalkboard paint to it, she’s given it a new life and purpose. The paint allows for a menu to be written and shared with guests, and then removed once the celebration concludes. The display is not a permanent fixture, so it’s easily tucked away when not in use.
