Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, and you may be be spending this time getting your menu together for the big day. While many of us already know that casseroles, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and stuffing will be fixtures on our tables, what if there is a way to put a new spin on two of these classics? Well, according to one TikToker, there certainly is.

Taking to his TikTok this week, @theshayspence shared the one hack that you may not have known you needed when it comes to sprucing up your traditional mac and cheese recipe. And no, it doesn’t involve adding raisins. Instead, the self-proclaimed professional eater and traveler encourages you to add stuffing to your mac and cheese to create the perfect 2-for-1 side dish that could also double as a meal.

“Here’s a gentle little Thanksgiving reminder that this year, when you’re making your mac and cheese, instead of a bread crumb topping — now, hear me out — it is totally cool to top it with your favorite stuffing recipe,” he said while showcasing the meal.

The video, which has garnered over 90,000 likes since its posting, received comments from both those in support of the switch-up and those who weren’t ready to give it a try.
“wait I’m sooooo into this” one commenter wrote, while another — who was opposed to the mixture — said “WE DONT NEED ANY TOPPINGS ON MAC AND CHESE LEAVE IT HOW IT IS.”

Another benefit to making the stuffing mac and cheese combo, according to Shay, is the fact that you’ll have less to clean up when you’re done cooking. So, if the thought of putting both of those side-dish favorites together wasn’t enough to sell you, maybe having less to clean up for the big day will.
