In my opinion, chocolate and peanut butter are the perfect match. I love the combination in everything from cookies to ice cream cake, but my absolute favorite celebration of this dynamic duo is peanut butter cups — a treat I enjoyed often when I was a kid and still crave today as an adult. If you’re also a PB cup enthusiast, there’s an exciting new spin on this old favorite you’re guaranteed to love.

Food blogger Peyton Pratte recently posted on Instagram about her no-bake peanut butter chocolate oat cups. These offer everything crave-worthy about peanut butter cups, but do so in a new way worth talking about.

The recipe begins by mixing old-fashioned rolled oats in a bowl with almond flour, peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and a bit of sea salt. Because these are a no-bake recipe, you can skip the oven preheating and just spoon the combined mixture into muffin tins. Just don’t forget to leave some room at top for the chocolate-peanut butter finisher.

The muffin tins will go in the freezer for an hour or so to set, leaving you time to prepare the topping: a simple mixture of chocolate chips and peanut butter that can be melted together in the microwave in less than a minute. Once both tasks are completed, you’ll smooth the topping onto the cups and store in the freezer for another 30 minutes before eating.

You can find the full recipe here, but if you’re looking for other easy-to-make no-bake treats, these homemade frozen Snickers banana pops will do the trick.
