Greetings, Cookbook Club-ers! I hope you’re filing up on all those holiday roasts and cookies, because in January for Kitchn’s Cookbook Club we’re going full-on VEGETABLES with Yotam Ottolenghi’s Plenty: Vibrant Vegetable Recipes from London’s Ottolenghi. This cult-favorite cookbook has been gracing kitchens everywhere since its release in 2011, and we thought what better way to start a new decade than highlighting one of the best cookbooks of the 2010’s. Bring on the pomegranate seeds and the fresh herbs!

Yotam Ottolenghi is a chef, recipe developer, and writer based in London. He is the co-owner of six restaurants and delis, and the author of many best-selling cookbooks including Simple and Jerusalem. He’s known for his wildly creative uses of vegetables and Israeli-inspired recipes. While his recipes aren’t always easy, they are always satisfying and excellent — the perfect excuse to linger a little longer in the kitchen in January.

I’ll talk a little more in January about why we chose this cookbook for Kitchn’s Cookbook Club. In the meantime, please join us in our private Facebook group to talk more about the cookbook and strategize on where you should start first (I think I’m going to start with the recipe on the cover). Throughout the month we’ll share a couple recipes and I’m hoping to show you an inside look at my own cookbook club gathering — kind of like the one I did with Salt Fat Acid Heat in September. Can’t wait to cook with you all!
