Ina Garten’s New French Oven Is Absolutely Stunning

I am an absolute sucker for a fancy-looking oven. I know, I know, ovens are tools and what really matters is how well they perform, not what they look like. But I can’t help myself; I just adore a beautiful range. Give me brass knobs, bars on the doors, and a range of colors that include options like “Provence blue.”

Basically, give me Ina Garten’s kitchen, complete with her brand-new French range from Lacanche.

Ina Garten has a new apartment in New York — Town and Country reports that she put her old one up for sale last March for about $2 million, because she was moving to a new one with a bigger kitchen — and her new city cooking space comes with one heck of a gorgeous range. Even Ina Garten seems pretty excited about it.

“First day cooking on my new @lacanche_us range,” she wrote. “So much fun!”

That does look like it’d be fun to cook on, doesn’t it?

Ina Garten couldn’t wait to take her new range out for a spin, and she says the first thing she cooked in it were these gorgeous pistachio meringues inspired by Yotam Ottolenghi.

Garten’s new range comes from Lacanche, a French company whose ranges are absolute showstoppers. They have a variety of styles and colors available, and they’re all equally impressive-looking; they’re just configured differently for different spaces and cooking styles. For her new kitchen, Ina Garten picked an elegant black range with brass and silver accents, but Lacanche also has some wilder options like this bright yellow one.

Garten’s range looks like Lacanche’s Sully model, which is 55 5/16″ wide and has two larger-capacity ovens and a cooktop with seven burners. That model starts at $13,850, so it’s far from a budget option, but it’s sure nice to look at.
