If you know me, you know that I’m a coffee fanatic, and over the past few months, I’ve been trying to dial in my at-home coffee ritual and brewing method. I’ve taken a look at kettles, grinders, and more, and I’ve found that while I love taking my time with a moka pot and getting fancy with my affordable espresso machine, for my everyday morning routine, you can’t beat a good cup of pour-over. However, since I live with my girlfriend, I need to make more than one cup of coffee at a time. Now, you could just do a pour over twice, but that’s a hassle — and it wastes a filter. I thought I had found my Goldilocks coffee brew method with Bodums’ pour over, and while I really do love that piece, my most recent pick-up has got to be my favorite addition to my caffeine command center yet: the Hario V60 Glass Range Coffee Server

The carafe features Hario’s signature heat-proof glass, a handle for easy pouring, and pairs perfectly with V60 pour over coffee drippers. It also has convenient measurement lines for easy brewing, and its durable construction retains heat longer and is more resistant to breaking or chipping. Personally, I like it for a number of reasons: it has the look and feel of a regular drip carafe; I don’t have to waste a filter; I can just use one pour over for a whole pot; it has a little screen to catch grinds if you’re using a mesh filter; and it has great flow control and pouring speed from the spout. It also sits more safely on its base than my Bodum, and its handle is more ergonomic and easy to use. It also reminds me of the carafes I used to see at diners in New Jersey growing up — but trust me, the coffee you can make in this bad boy is much, much better. (No shade to NJ diners, though.)

I’d also definitely recommend this setup to anyone who likes saving space, since when you have this carafe, you’re able to use it with virtually all of Hario’s pour-over products, and with its 800-milliliter capacity, you can make enough coffee for two big cups, or four small cups with ease. Plus, you can toss it in the microwave to reheat coffee that’s gotten cold as well, if you’re into that.

Oh, and I’m not the only one who’s a fan of this carafe. With a 4.7-star average rating from over 3,300 reviews on Amazon, it’s clear that Hario is doing something right with this product. “As with the V60 cone, this range server is an industry standard,” one reviewer writes. “If you’re making more than a single cup with your #2 V60 then this is a perfect accessory. It’s lightweight and durable. I’ve used mine for years with no problem. It’s easy to wash by hand or in the machine. It looks great and it’s glass, so it’s easy to see your volume.”

So, if you’re looking to upgrade your existing carafe, get into pour-over coffee, or (like me) you just can’t get enough coffee-making gadgets for your kitchen, there’s no better pick-up than the Hario V60 Glass Range Coffee Server.
