I Tried Jeni’s New Dolly Parton Ice Cream Flavor — And I Will Always Love It

When we found out Dolly was collaborating on an ice cream flavor with Jeni’s last year, we couldn’t click the buy button fast enough. Our favorite country music philanthropist collaborating with one of the best ice cream shops on the scene today? That’s a no-brainer. And oh boy, it did not disappoint.

Luckily, Dolly’s Strawberry Pretzel Pie ice cream is making a repeat appearance to celebrate the release of her novel (yes, novel!) and companion album, both titled Run, Rose, Run. The novel was co-written with James Patterson and follows a young singer-songwriter who’s (you guessed it) on the run. You can order the ice cream and digital album through the Jeni’s website and they’ll be delivered upon release this spring.

If you’ve spent any time in the South, you may have sampled a dessert/side dish called strawberry pretzel salad or strawberry pretzel pie. Far from a true salad, the sweet treat is made up of a crunchy, salty pretzel crust, a creamy, tangy cream cheese filling, and a topping of strawberries and gelatin. The sweet, creamy, tangy, crunchy, salty, and fruity combo makes for an extremely tasty ice cream.

If you didn’t get a chance to sample Dolly’s special ice cream the last go-around (or have been dreaming about it ever since like we have), you’re in luck. The very limited flavor is available for pre-order now on the Jeni’s website and will ship in April. There’s a limit of two pints of the limited flavor per order with a minimum of four pints per order, but it’s certainly not hard to fill your cart with Jeni’s ice cream.

As a big bonus, all purchases of the limited-edition ice cream will benefit Dolly’s Imagination Library which provides free books to children under five. The incredible organization has distributed over 172 million books to almost two million kids to date. It’s enough to have us clicking buy, buy, buy all over again. Order your pints here.
