This Is the Best Bread You Can Buy at Costco — And It’s Why I Became a Member in the First Place
They say you never forget your first love. While “they” say that in reference to a human being, I’m talking about a loaf of bread. Yes, bread. With just one bite, I fell head over doughy heels for this bread and, in turn, Costco. It’s the reason why I became a member of the warehouse in the first place.
In all its chewy, yeasty perfection, the rosemary Parmesan bread is the the loaf that keeps me coming back, week after week, and year after year. Let it be known: This cheesy loaf is, by far, the best loaf of bread you can buy at Costco.

Thank goodness this bread comes in a two-pack, because its possibilities are endless: The first thing I do with the loaf is slice off the end for a post-shopping snack. I lightly toast it to bring out the herbal aroma, and swipe a pat of golden butter (I recommend Kerrygold’s salted butter, also from Costco). After that, the loaf is, well, your oyster.
Slice the loaf thick for a hearty grilled cheese. Cut or tear it into large pieces, toast, and toss with ripe summer tomatoes, onion, and herbs in a seasonal panzanella. Use the rosemary loaf as the start of the ultimate sharable sandwich — it’s perfect for picnics, lake-side lunches, and ballpark fare.
You might be surprised that this bread also plays well with dishes on the sweeter side. Serve classic French toast casserole with a twist by swapping the sourdough for this rosemary Parmesan bread. For an easy-yet-impressive dessert, serve a slice alongside brûléed fruit with mascarpone yogurt sauce. And before you know it, all you’re left with are the crumbs. Time to head back to Costco’s bakery to buy another batch of bread.
