If you’re sick of people telling you to stop eating leftover cold pizza for breakfast (you’re not in college anymore!) then I have very good news for you. Whip up a batch of these pizza scones and dare your friends to question your life choices again. Pizza scones are exactly what they sound like: a quick bread stuffed with cheese, seasoning, and mini pepperonis and dipped in marinara sauce.

The best part of this recipe isn’t the combination of pizza and scones (fine, who am I kidding, that’s why you’re making this recipe) — it’s the fact that it’s made in a single bowl without any gadgets, gizmos, or electronics. Just a wooden spoon and your fingers. They are surprisingly easy to make, which makes them that much more enticing.

Flour, chilled butter, Italian seasonings, and mini pepperoni are combined with a little cheese to make a tasty treat that is formed into a flattened dough and then cut into four-inch circles. The dough is then basted with butter and a little extra cheese and mini pepperonis are added to the top. After that you simply pop them into the oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

Just try not to burn your mouth by eating them straight out of the oven.

Your friends will love you, your family will want them time and time again, and, best of all, you can even freeze them for quick baking down the road when hungry tummies appear or late-night snacks are desired. Dip the scones into your favorite marinara sauce and you have a snack of legendary proportions! What’s not to love, really?
