When it comes to searching for new recipes, I’m always on the hunt for something with minimal fuss and maximum flavor. Generally, anything baked and fluffy gets my immediate attention. So, it came as no surprise that I was hooked when I learned about Sarah Crawford at Broma Bakery, and her recipe for Strawberries and Cream Sticky Buns. If you’re looking for the perfect spring treat that is as fluffy as a pillow and includes a delicious strawberry preserves filling, this is the recipe for you.

Grab a large mixing bowl and combine flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Mix until combined. Microwave a bit of milk and butter for 30 seconds, then add to the flour mixture. Next, you’ll add one egg and beat on low speed, gradually increasing until completely combined. Scrape down the bowl and add another 1 1/2 cups of flour, beating until combined. Add the final cup of flour and beat until the dough pulls away from the side of the bowl. Knead for 10 minutes before transferring the dough to an oiled bowl. Cover and let rise.

Next, roll the dough out into an 18×12-inch rectangle. Spread the strawberry preserves across the surface using an offset spatula to spread evenly. Roll the dough lengthwise into a tight roll, then seal the bottom edge by pinching the dough together. Cut into 12 even pieces and place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover loosely and allow to rise for an hour or so, or until they double in size. Preheat your oven to 350°F and bake for about 30 minutes — or until golden brown. Once cooled, ice with cream cheese icing and enjoy!

The full recipe can be found here as well as some super helpful tricks and tips.
