Christmas sometimes feels like a marathon. By the time it gets to the big day, we’re exhausted. We’ve been busy since Thanksgiving — shopping for gifts, planning holiday gatherings, and trimming the tree. And just when we’re wiped out, it’s time to plan a big holiday feast for the whole family. This seems like a time where we’ll need a major dose of coffee.

Starbucks has long been a symbol of the holiday season, as depicted in the holiday red cups and seasonal holiday drinks like the classic Peppermint Mocha or Caramel Brulée Latte or new favorites like the Iced Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai. But with all the holiday spirit attached to the Starbucks experience, will we be able to actually get these beverages on Christmas Day? Is Starbucks open on Christmas?

In most cases, yes, Starbucks is open for business on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But not always. According to a blog on the corporate Starbucks website, while Starbucks is generally open on Christmas, this can vary depending on location. “This holiday season, Starbucks store hours vary by location and stores may occasionally adjust their hours based on business and customer needs. We recommend customers look for specific store hours using the Starbucks app or by visiting our website store locator: Starbucks.com/store-locator,” the post reads.

So, while some locations may be closed or have reduced hours, generally you’ll be able to get your go-to Starbucks order — you may want to call ahead before stopping by, though. Especially if the caffeine craving is as strong that day as it is likely to be!

Of course, if your local Starbucks isn’t available when you need it, you can always try making your favorite coffee drinks at home, such as Starbucks-style vanilla sweet cream cold foam.
