The containers we use to store food in seems like a boring topic — and yet people can get really excited about it. (Perhaps that explains why there’s an entire store devoted to containers.)

Investing in a good set or two of reusable food containers is a great way to help keep your food fresher longer, organize your fridge, and get better about packing lunch.

Here are three containers that we are really excited about. Bonus: They also all happen to be on sale on Amazon.

Good for: Keeping your fridge (and kitchen!) more organized.

Rubbermaid’s line of Premier containers are designed to stack easily when in use and in storage. The clear tops make it easy to spot food in a crowded fridge, and they lock together for easy stacking and storage. The Premier line is a slightly more durable, stain-resistant upgrade to another Kitchn favorite, the classic Easy Find storage set ($20 for a 42-piece set).

Good for: Keeping food fresher longer.

Even the best planners can let food linger too long in the fridge. Rubbermaid’s FreshWorks containers helps produce last longer by keeping moisture off the produce and oxygen flowing in the container. A special crisper tray allows condensation to gather at the bottom of the containers — not on the fruit or vegetables. And a filter (that never needs replacing) regulates the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Good for: Packing lunches and storing food at home.

While just about any food container is capable of transporting your food to work just fine, once you try the Brilliance food storage containers, you will never look back. The lids are leak-proof and you can tell when they’re closed, meaning they can handle even the roughest commute once the lids are locked in place. If you need to heat your food, the lids lift to create a vent for splatter-free microwaving.
