Earlier this week, the team at Great Jones, a cookware start-up company with a cult following, shocked Dutchess devotees everywhere with a big news flash on Instagram Stories. To a few fans’ dismay, the company officially chose to discontinue their iconic “Macaron” Dutch oven which is owned and beloved by many, including but not limited to Katy Perry, Molly Yeh, and Neil Patrick Harris. Fans were shook to their core, clamoring to get a dreamy pink Dutchess before they sold out to make way for a new color on the block.

To get customers hyped up about their launch, Great Jones hinted at its latest reveal with three very subtle Instagram clues.

Can you spot a theme here? A certain special sauce perhaps?!

Anxious commenters made predictions on what was coming: “a pizza stone,” “pizza pan,” “ceramic casserole,” “gabbagool dish,” “smaller Saucy,” “enormous Saucy,” “pasta strainer,” “pasta maker,” “lasagna pan,” “Red Holy Sheet pan,” and more. The right answer, however, is a brand new, highly covetable Dutch oven that’s aptly named “Marinara.” It’s the first new Dutchess that the brand has released in eight months.

Isn’t she beautiful!? This bold, tomato-red pot is a no-brainer addition to Great Jones’ existing line-up of enameled cast iron Dutch ovens that includes primary colors blue (Blueberry) and yellow (Mustard), as well as green (Broccoli), grey (Earl Grey), black (Pepper), and white (Salt). Something tells us that Marinara is going to fit right in.

If you haven’t started your Great Jones collection, now is probably a good time to start. FYI: Great Jones sells a “Family Style” starter pack which includes The Dutchess, Big Deal, Saucy, Deep Cut, and Small Fry. As of today, the Marinara Dutchess has officially been welcomed into the family.

Now, all that’s left to do is decide what to cook first… Maybe some marinara sauce?

What do you think of the new color? Do you miss the pink?
