As much as I love home-baked pastries and savory snacks, sometimes it can be a real pain to pull out my bakeware. I’m even known to improvise where I can just to avoid bending and reaching into the deepest part of my kitchen cabinet to retrieve my baking sheet buried under other items. It’s doable, but not at all convenient. Plus, there are times when it’s just not necessary to use the full-scale baking pan when making snacks for one, no matter how delicious they are. I had no idea these existed until a few months ago, but I got my hands on Chicago Metallic’s 4-Piece Toaster Oven Set and it’s made my life SO much easier! And, it’s now heavily discounted for Prime Day, making this a great time to try it out in your own kitchen!

The Chicago Metallic Toaster Oven Set comes with four pieces of non-stick bakeware: a cake pan, baking pan, six-cup muffin pan, and a cooling rack. All of the bakeware is made of carbon steel, and doesn’t feel cheap. Though they’re smaller versions of bakeware I’ve had for years, the quality is on the same level! The pans are even stackable so the set won’t take up a lot of space in the cabinet. All the pieces are dishwasher-safe, though hand-washing is recommended. I washed them in the dishwasher before using them, and didn’t have any issues; however, they’re super easy to wash and dry by hand quickly.

To be completely honest, I don’t have a toaster oven. I’ve always wanted one, but never actually got around to picking one out. While this bakeware set is made to fit in toaster ovens, you don’t need to have one in order to use it. What made the set so impressively convenient for me was its size, because I don’t make a lot of large-portion meals unless it’s in a pot on the stove. I’m often only cooking for one or two people at a time, and I don’t particularly enjoy pulling out my full-size baking sheet for one serving of snacks. When I was a teenager, I used to use aluminum pie pans for pizza rolls and other finger foods that I would munch on after school, but this is a MUCH nicer alternative!

The 4-piece Toaster Oven Set costs less than $20, providing quality everyday bakeware at an affordable price. To take it a step further, there’s even a Savory Set that includes a casserole dish, crisper, taco tray, and a cordierite pizza stone. At this time, the savory toaster oven set is available exclusively at Crate & Barrel for $14.97 (originally $29.99).

I reach for my Chicago Metallic small-scale bakeware more often than my regular baking pans these days! It just makes so much more sense to use them when I’m cooking for myself and not entertaining an apartment full of guests. The quick and easy clean-up is another bonus! Before I head off to bed, I can store any leftovers, wash the pans, and put them away. It’s also helpful that I can store this bakeware in places where my standard pans won’t fit. I haven’t had a chance to use the taco tray or pizza stone yet, but that just means it’s about time to schedule a long overdue girls’ night with my best friends. Taco Tuesday sounds like a date!
