We love so much about Thanksgiving. It’s an opportunity to enjoy some of our favorite hearty dishes, from roast turkey and stuffing to cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. It’s also a great time to celebrate friendship, family, and all we have to be grateful for. The Thanksgiving countdown is here, and as you buy those final canned goods and table decor, you’re probably wondering about Target’s Thanksgiving hours so we can grab those last-minute odds and ends in time for the holiday.

What Are Target’s Thanksgiving Hours?

Target fans will have to plan ahead this year, much as they have for the last few years. Target is closed on Thanksgiving Day 2023 so that the store’s hard-working team can take a much-needed break and spend time with their families. This is part of a chain-wide policy that began during the COVID-19 pandemic, as work/life balance became a greater part of the global conversation.

“What started as a temporary measure driven by the pandemic is now our new standard,” Target CEO Brian Cornell posted in a 2021 statement to employees on the Target website. This is, as of now, the ongoing policy at Target regarding Thanksgiving hours.

However, Target will be open the day before Thanksgiving with regular hours as well as the day after, with special Black Friday deals. Plus, you can always shop online 24/7. So, the Target team will need all the rest they can get, as this chain is known for some amazing post-Thanksgiving specials and doorbusters.

If you do stop by Target before Thanksgiving to get that epic deal on a Thanksgiving meal, it may be a good spot to pick up some cute serving dishes to make the dinner presentation really pop. The beloved retailer’s Thanksgiving mushroom plates and cute cabbage serving bowls will have you covered.
