Welcome to Snapshot Cooking, the home of Kitchn’s easiest recipes. These mini recipes are so simple you can practically cook from the before-and-after snapshot itself.

We feel pretty strongly that pita chips, crackers, and veggies are a million times better when dunked into a creamy, flavor-packed dip. Sure, you can pick up a tub of hummus at the grocery store, but making it yourself — or any dip, for that matter — can be just as easy, and far more rewarding.

Here are five simple ideas to prove our point. All you need is a food processor and a handful of pantry ingredients. Toss ’em in, blend away, and ready your favorite dunking mechanism.

5 Snapshot Recipes for Food Processor Party Dips

  • The tool: Each recipe calls for a 7-cup food processor. Dump 5 ingredients in and blend until smooth.
  • We assume you have olive oil, salt, and pepper on hand so we aren’t counting them as part of the 5 ingredients. Add salt and pepper to taste and a drizzle of olive oil to make your dip even creamier, if desired.
  • What to dip into these dips? The choice is yours! We love the classics like pita chips and Triscuits, along with whatever raw veggies are in the crisper drawer, such as carrot sticks, broccoli florets, or cherry tomatoes.
