Toasty Marshmallows! No Campfire? Use a Gas Grill

This is the time of year we start to think, wistfully, of burnt toasted marshmallows, flaming on sticks. But we can't exactly build a fire on our back porch, so what's a city-dweller to do? Pull out the gas grill, of course.

We pulled the grate off our gas grill last night, then lit it up and huddled around in the crisp night air with some friends. We roasted lots and lots of marshmallows, and then sandwiched them between those chewy chocolate featherweight cookies. (Much better than crunchy S'mores, in our opinion.)

The gas grill makes a great substitute for a campfire, when it comes to marshmallows! Do you ever toast marshmallows on your gas (or charcoal!) grill? What's your favorite S'mores combination?
