If you think chili needs to simmer all day long to develop great flavor, then you’ve never tried making chili in an Instant Pot. With only 15 minutes of prep time and 20 minutes of cook time, this pressure cooker chili can be on the table in well under an hour and packs a big punch of flavor.

This recipe calls for ground turkey, which makes it nice and lean. (Don’t worry — you can always top with extra cheese and sour cream later if you’re missing the fat!)

You first use the Instant Pot’s sauté function to cook the turkey and onion in some olive oil. Then you add the spices — chili powder, ground chipotle, ground cumin, and garlic powder — followed by sweet potato, red bell pepper, crushed tomatoes, beans (black, kidney, chickpea, pinto), and chicken broth and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.

Once your chili is ready, you can top it with the usual suspects: sour cream, shredded cheese, scallions, avocado, and lime. This is the perfect way to satisfy your chili craving on a cold night in next to no time!
