A recent Sneak Peek on Design*Sponge stopped me in my tracks when I saw the kitchen. Farah Malik knew she absolutely wanted a brass hood, and she searched for over a year before she found one on eBay for $200. That, combined with the Viking stove and brass hardware, make for a gorgeous little space.

“I have a real thing for heirlooms,” Farah tells Design*Sponge, and almost every piece in her kitchen has a story: the brass kettle and wooden spoons were all picked up on her travels; the Moroccan tea kettle was handed down to her from a friend’s grandmother in Marrakech; her cutting board is from the Aeolian island of Salina in Sicily; and the mortar and pestle is hand-carved red oak from a Bengali store in London.

So much beauty and history in this kitchen!
