This New Customizable Coffee Brand Is My Favorite Way to Caffeinate
As much as I love coffee, I wouldn’t consider myself a coffee snob or a particularly picky person when it comes to caffeine — I just want my cup first thing in the morning (and again mid-day to combat that post-lunch crash). Still, I know bad grounds when I taste them. Some brews, for instance, have a burnt flavor and a bitter taste that are hard to stomach. They’ll give you the jitters even if you don’t brew them that strong, which is always a bad way to start your day. Finding a good at-home coffee brand is consequently a process of trial and error, which is why I feel especially lucky to have had the chance to try Zend Coffee. This new subscription-based service makes some of the highest-quality blends on the market, and right now you can save 40 percent on your first subscription order of more than two bags (and up to 20 percent on ongoing subscriptions) when you use code ZEND40 at checkout.
Zend has nine different blends that you can try: five made from premium-sourced, slow-roasted Arabica beans and four single-origin roasts, all with unique flavor profiles. Not only do you have a wide range of flavors to choose from, but you can further customize your order by opting for one or more of their functional blends. There’s the Beauty Blend that they say supports healthy skin, hair, and nails, for instance, as well as the Recovery Blend that’s made with ingredients like turmeric root extract and ginger root extract to help support hearth health and mobility. Finally, the Serenity Blend supports stress relief, according to Zend. Although I didn’t try any of the functional blends, I can attest that all nine of the regular formulations are well worth a try. As a fan of lighter roasts, the Breakfast Blend in particular stuck out to me. Described as citrusy and carrying notes of cinnamon, it’s just what I need to wake me up every morning.
From the dark roasts, I highly recommend the espresso blend for a midday pick-me-up. Like all of Zend’s roasts, it’s incredibly smooth and pleasant. I usually can’t drink black coffee because I find it too bitter, but one day I had to because I ran out of oat milk, and for the first time ever, I thoroughly enjoyed my plain cup of coffee!
What’s more, you don’t need a fancy coffee machine to brew a perfectly delicious and energizing pot with Zend. I make basic pour-over coffee using my electric kettle and whichever blend I’m feeling that day, and it always gets the job done well. To top it all off, I get to sip out of Zend’s adorable Corkcicle mug. (If you didn’t know, the coffee brand was founded by the same person behind the famous insulated tumbler line.) So, whether you opt for one of Zend’s stress-free subscription models or pick a few blends to try for a one-time purchase, I have no doubt you’ll become just as big of a fan as I already am.
