Your Favorite Childhood Cereal Just Got a Massive Upgrade
Just when you thought the unicorn food fad had died along with Starbucks’ discontinued Frappuccino, Kellogg’s has just revived it. The rainbow-tastic trend is getting a second life with the debut of Unicorn Froot Loops.
That’s right — one of your favorite childhood cereals has been given the mythical treatment with new packaging (including a cartoon unicorn with a glittery, flowing mane) and completely new colors. The iconic rainbow rings received a major makeover, transforming the classic primary shades to pastel purple, pink, and yellow; however, it’s unclear exactly what those new flavors may be. But that’s not stopping fans from going crazy for bowls of the sweet stuff on social media.
According to a press release from the breakfast brand, only natural colors were used to tint the sugary rings, which have been fortified with vitamin C, iron, calcium, and B vitamins.
The catch, of course, is that the limited-edition flavor is only available at ASDA grocery stores in the U.K. and Ireland. However, if Unicorn Froot Loops become as wildly popular as Britain’s Oreo Cadbury Eggs, then you might be able to score a box (or five) on Amazon or eBay. Otherwise, we’ll have to cross our fingers they eventually make it across the Atlantic.
