Happy National Mojito Day! Let’s celebrate with fresh blackberry mojitos. Before you head out to your favorite cocktail bar, know that these pretty-in-pink cocktails are super easy to make at home — no mixology degree required.

If you’re anything like me, you might’ve gone a little overboard with the berries at the farmers market, but don’t worry — this cocktail is a great way to use them up. The tart berries help balance the sugar in the cocktail and complement the lime so perfectly.

The thing I love most about this recipe is that you just mix the cocktail right in the glass you’re going to drink it out of. You don’t need a fancy shaker, strainer, or even a muddler (a long wooden spoon will work just fine)! Simply muddle some fresh mint and blackberries with raw sugar and fresh lime juice in the bottom of a tall glass. Then add your white rum, stir, fill the glass with ice, top with soda water, and stir again. And that’s it! A refreshing cocktail that’s dangerously fast to whip up.
