If there’s one thing I can’t get enough of, it’s pizza. My love of it goes back to childhood and I could never resist the dreamy, delectable smells that somehow come from the combination of pizza dough, sauce, and cheese. Even now, I could live on pizza — or do so for at least a month — without any complaints. As a vegan, however, I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy cheese pizza that doesn’t include dairy.

So, imagine how excited I was when I found @cook.vegetarian’s hack for pizza dough that’s made with soy yogurt and doesn’t include anything dairy. Sharing the two-ingredient vegan yogurt pizza dough recipe, Luba Pavia — a certified plant-based nutritionist — promises that it will change your life, and I have a feeling it’s going to do just that.

The only ingredients you need for the dough are Greek-style soy yogurt and self-rising flour, and while Pavia uses Vitasoy Greek-Style Plain Soy Yogurt, you can use any plant-based, Greek-style yogurt that you enjoy instead.

Simply preheat the oven while you line a baking tray with parchment paper. Then combine the vegan yogurt and flour in a bowl, using your hands to mix it into a ball and knead until soft. That shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes. Next, just press the dough into a big circle and carefully transfer it to the baking tray before adding your toppings. You can use this basic dough recipe for making any kind of pizza you can imagine.

If you want to try Pavia’s pizza, use tomato or pizza sauce, sliced cherry tomatoes, dairy-free crumbled feta, dairy-free shredded cheese, and fresh arugula. Not a fan of crumbled feta? Don’t worry, the best vegan cheese for pizza is whatever tastes best to you! I recommend experimenting with a variety of toppings until you find the perfect pizza for your taste buds. (You may not want to smell my breath after I chow down, but I love adding onions and roasted garlic to my pizza!)
