A plate of spaghetti and meatballs is already one of the most comforting dishes you can make, but let’s take things one step further. Let’s put everything in a baking dish, top it with mozzarella, and bake it until it’s all crispy and golden-brown. Are you with me?

This is a great way to feed this classic dinner dish to a crowd. Simply boil some bucatini until al dente and toss it with marinara, sear some meatballs on the stove, and combine the two in a baking dish — prepared with softened butter and a sprinkling of Parmesan! — before finishing with shredded mozzarella.

The meatballs finish cooking in the oven, and the cheese gets all melty and delicious. Garnish with fresh basil and bring the baking dish right to the table so everyone can dig in.
