The Smartest Organizer in My Kitchen Is Hiding in Plain Sight — And I’m Obsessed
As much as I love my apartment, I am constantly looking for new ways to store things — especially in the kitchen. With no linen or storage closet, and limited cabinet space, I have found a few space-saving solutions that are both functional and fit into the design and style of my kitchen.
Before my husband and I got our dog, Chai, I was wondering where I would keep her dry food (including kibble and snacks), along with other miscellaneous items I wanted to use more frequently. As I scoured the internet for something that would make space in my cabinets, I came across this Yamazaki Home Rolling Storage Cart. I was inspired by the product photos that showed how neatly it fit in between tight spaces, and that’s when the lightbulb in my head went off.
Fortunately, there were narrow spaces on either side of my fridge; on the left is the stackable washer and dryer, and on the right is a cabinet. I decided to pull out my fridge and push it as close as I could to the washer and dryer so I could slide this cart in between the fridge and the cabinets. After taking some measurements, it was a perfect fit.
The cart pulls out with ease, and it looks as if it was already part of my kitchen. In addition to Chai’s food, snacks, and medication, I keep my favorite oven scrub, a hand mixer, and a mandoline slicer neatly organized in it too.
I won’t lie; this cart was definitely a splurge for me, but it has been the most valuable and useful item I have bought for my kitchen in a long time. My love for the Yamazaki Home brand only continues to grow. What I love most about it is that it hides in plain sight, but still looks sleek. It also helped me keep my other kitchen cabinets and drawers clutter-free so I can focus on maintaining a functional and neat kitchen.
