The Incredibly Chic Lunch Box That Makes Me Look Forward to Meal Prepping
I never thought I’d see a lunch box again after I graduated high school, but fast forward some years, and they’re making a chic comeback into my life. From purse-like insulated bags to bento boxes, there are now plenty of functional and stylish ways to level-up your lunch game on the go (or even if you WFH). My latest obsession? W&P’s newly introduced Porter Lunch Box, which magically made me look forward to meal prepping for once. Here at Kitchn, we’re major fans of W&P’s modern take on kitchen essentials, so it came as no surprise that I instantly fell in love with this little lunch helper.
I’m still mostly working from home, which means that lunches can get kind of boring (yes, I miss my overpriced salads and grain bowls dearly). However, I’ve been trying to mix things up with new recipes and gadgets that’ll make the experience almost an act of self care. Once I started using this pretty blush pink lunch box, I actually got a little more motivated to get chopping and cooking. This compact, smart container also comes in two other eye-catching colors, which gives it extra brownie points in my book (I want one of each!).
It’s obvious that this thing is downright gorgeous — I even leave it out on my counters as cute decor — but the innovative design is where its bragging rights really come into play. The main attraction? The removable divider and tray that prevent different foods from touching. I’ve dealt with soggy lunchtime salads for years, and now I’ve finally found a genius solution that keeps my lunch fresh and crisp. With a 4-cup bowl capacity and 2-cup tray capacity, this bento box holds everything and then some. It’s definitely bigger than some other bento boxes, but since I’m mostly using it for prepping lunches at home, I actually prefer it that way. If you’re taking it to the office, though, don’t worry; it’ll easily fit in a tote.
Made with ultra-soft BPA-free plastic, this box feels luxe to the touch. It also features a removable silicone strap that prevents the container from opening while you’re transporting it. And since you can pop it right in the microwave and eliminate the need to transfer your food into yet another bowl, you don’t dirty up extra dishes. When it’s time to clean up, just throw this baby in the dishwasher. I mean, what didn’t they think of?
This little luxury is also perfect for picnics or to use as food storage for leftovers. (Portable charcuterie, anyone?!) With fall nearly here, now’s the perfect time to treat yourself to this $25 kitchen accessory that’ll make getting back into the meal-prep routine more fun and organized.
