There are a handful of stores where I can happily spend hours simply browsing, and World Market is at the top of that list. I appreciate that many of their storage solutions are not only functional and useful, but also charming and oftentimes handcrafted or hand painted by artisans from all over the world — they’re not just items you can find at any home decor store.

On a recent trip to World Market, I discovered a handful of decor items that can also double as kitchen storage — so your space stays neat and organized while adding a delightful statement piece. These picks will make you smile every time you walk into your kitchen.

I couldn’t dream up a more charming piece of decor that’s also made for storing tiny kitchen trinkets. This little chrome shopping cart is perfect for holding your favorite wrapped candies or small fruits and vegetables like tangerines, grapes, or cherry tomatoes, or you can use it as a funky napkin or small utensil holder.

If you want to elevate a basic fruit bowl while also giving your kitchen a bohemian and organic modern touch, this hanging basket is the perfect piece. Use the top basket as a banana holder and the bottom basket for other fruit, or it can also work as a plant display or a holder for small cookbooks and recipe notecards.

Give your kitchen a whimsical cottage vibe with this ceramic mushroom cookie jar. I especially love the yellow toadstool lid with white spots. While this jar is obviously meant to store cookies (and other baked treats), it has an airtight seal that also works for storing dried goods such as flour, granola, or pasta. It’s probably the cutest possible way to decant pantry goods.

Whether you’re serving a fresh summer pasta salad or need a vessel for some decorative objects to place on your dining table, this serving bowl is definitely a kitchen must-buy. It has the vintage appearance of recycled glass, but it’s made of break-resistant acrylic, so it’s also great for outdoor entertaining.

Utensil holders are a must to keep your kitchen counters neat and organized, but they don’t have to look dull just because they’re functional. This utensil holder features a vibrant, intricate Tunisian artwork that makes it look more like an artisan vase (so feel free to use it for a fresh flower bouquet, too!). It instantly adds a dash of handcrafted charm to your kitchen.

If you’re looking to consolidate items from the infamous kitchen junk drawer, these embossed tin trinket boxes are both elegant and practical. The intricate, handcrafted design will stand out on your kitchen counters, table, or in your cabinet, while keeping small items, like an egg timer or a wooden dish brush, stored away neatly.

Having a small kitchen usually means having to find clever storage solutions while being mindful not to create clutter. This rattan wall shelf gives you plenty of space to store glassware, bar tools, and even a houseplant or two so you can keep things within reach while adding a bohemian vibe to your kitchen.
