15 Little Luxuries (for $15 or Less) to Pick Up at Whole Foods
Today, when I stopped into my local Whole Foods for a routine shopping visit, I kept my eyes peeled for things I don’t normally put on my grocery list. Usually, I keep my blinders on and focus on what I know I need to buy, so I can get in and get out without going overboard — but it’s the holiday season, and you never know when a great gift, stocking stuffer, or self-care treat is right under your nose.
Turns out, there’s a lot! Here are 15 of the coolest little luxuries I found at Whole Foods today. They’re all under $15 and make great last-minute gifts for friends, hosts, or, well, yourself!
1. Twine Living Co. Vineyard Wine Charms, $11 for six
Stop the Wine Glass Confusion epidemic once and for all with this set of six wine- and cheese-themed glass charms. Your Book Club meetings will be forever changed now that everyone will know whose glass is whose.
2. Voges Chocolate, $8 each (normally $9)
Normally I wouldn’t endorse spending close to $10 on a chocolate bar, but Voges chocolate is an exception. The elevated flavor combinations are downright dreamy, so no matter who you’re buying for, make sure you’re on the list, too.
3. Totally Bamboo 3-Tier Salt & Storage Box, $10
This three-tiered, bamboo salt cellar was such an unexpected find that I almost snatched up every single one in the display. Think of all the spice-storage combinations (and how pretty this will look on a countertop)!
4. St. Nuage Triple Créme Cheese, $14 for 6.3 ounces
Get the cheese-lover in your life the gift of this triple creme cows’ milk cheese. Bonus points if you also get the next item on this list to round out the gift.
5. Raincoast Crisps, $9
These are the best crackers of all time! (THERE, I SAID IT.) Raincoast Crisps are the cracker to end all crackers. They’re crispety, and crunchety, and speckled with bits of dried fruit and herbs. They come in tons of flavor variations, too. Just be mentally prepared to spend nearly a dollar per cracker. Okay, not really, but close!
6. Waste Not Paper Wrap, $12 per roll
While you’re buying all these potential presents at Whole Foods, you may as well pick up wrapping paper while you’re there. Waste Not Paper is the wholesale branch of the very fancy/very spendy cult-favorite store Paper Source, so you can rest knowing these are high-quality rolls.
7. Teapigs, $9 for 15 sachets
Teapigs sources high-quality, whole-leaf teas to put in their biodegradable teabags, which they lovingly refer to as “tea temples.” Get them for the person in your life who can’t go a day without tea time (and also loves the environment).
8. Biocellulose Hydrating Coconut Face Mask, $4
There is no better stocking stuffer or just-because-present than a sheet mask, especially when the air outside takes a turn for the (cold, dry) worse. Stock up while doing your weekly food run.
9. Madhava Organic Amber Unfiltered Honey, $12 for 22 ounces
Everyone knows at least one person who puts honey in and on everything. Get them this Winnie the Pooh-sized jar of organic, unfiltered honey and I guarantee that their honey habit is only going to get worse. Or should that be better?
10. Cafe Ubuntu Coffee, $12 for 12 ounces
I love this festive packaging from Café Ubuntu, which sources its coffee beans from eastern Africa.”Ubuntu” means “interconnectedness” — a great message to send when you’re giving a gift to someone you love.
11. Maroma Incense, $4 for four sticks
These 100 percent natural-scented incense sticks come in soothing smells like lavender, pine, jasmine, and amber. Give a pack as a hostess gift or a stocking stuffer.
12. Belvoir Ginger Beer, $7 for 25 ounces
Help your frequent hostess upgrade her cocktail/mocktail game with this organic ginger beer, sourced from Belvoir Fruit Farms. It’s got a slight fizz to it, so it will feel fancy and festive even if it’s just served straight.
13. Burt’s Bees Gift Set, $11 for four
These beeswax lip balms are a cult-favorite for a reason — they work! And now Whole Foods is making it possible to stash one in every purse, pouch, drawer, or car cupholder.
14. Lavender Herb Tree, $13
This festive mini Christmas tree is even better than a classic pine one because it’s made of baby lavender. Trust me when I say it smells divine.
15. Justin’s Nut Butter Covered Nuts, $6 for three ounces
If you’re planning on hosting any holiday soirées this year, treat your guests to little bowls of these nut-butter covered nuts. (Yes, my mind is blown, too.) They’re sweet, and salty, and the perfect snack to pair with holiday cheer and merriment.
