Where Can I Find a Recipe for Bismarck Buns?

Q: In the Midwest we had a breakfast bun called a bismark (bismarck) bun. It was made with a dough and a custard piped in — not a pastry cream filling, but a custard filling.

I thought it would be easy to find a recipe, but on the Internet, they are called Long Johns, donuts, and other names. They were a round bun with a chocolate icing and filled with a custard. Does anyone have a recipe?
