What Should I Cook for a Group of Experienced Chefs?

Q: As part of a high school program, I am currently interning at a restaurant. For my final project, I'm planning on preparing a full course meal for the staff to showcase my accomplishments. Problem is, I'm having trouble deciding what to actually cook!

I'd like to make this an impressive meal as I am serving the entire staff which is full of many highly-acclaimed chefs. I'm still pretty inexperienced when it comes to cooking, but I am up for any suggestions! Any advice at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Editor: Allison, our advice would be to keep it simple and seasonal. If you're cooking the "family meal" as pre-dinner service meals are sometimes called at restaurants, what people want is simple, comforting food that will nourish them for the long night of work ahead. What about a dish of pasta with some slow-simmered sauce? Maybe a refreshing salad to go alongside? Or some roasted fall vegetables?
