If you live in San Francisco and are considering a victory garden (or haven’t considered one before and this post got you thinking!) here’s a website with a plethora of information

SF Victory Gardens is a pilot project with a goal to transform open space – rooftops, windowboxes, empty lots, and so on – into food-bearing gardens. The SF Victory Gardens website is full of tidbits containing events, networks of other victory gardeners, a starter kit, and useful links. The people who run the site are hoping to provide on-site gardening assistance to 15 needy families this year, and are looking for volunteers. If you are able to help test soil, measure out a plot, and help in the groundbreaking of a new victory garden, go to the website and sign up.
