Why We Wanna Cook Here: Can you say dinner party?
When we travel we believe in staying in real homes as much as we can; to really taste a place means cooking local food in a local's kitchen. And if you're traveling to the Catskills (check out our Bite-Sized Guide to the Catskills) here's a vacation rental to love.
This updated farmhouse has a stainless-steel six-burner gas stove, a porcelain apron-front sink, and plenty of natural light. As if that's not enough, it also has brand-new cookware (think: All-Clad pots and pans). And the perfectly rustic dining table seats 10 people comfortably. During warmer months, dinner parties can be indoor-outdoor hybrids, as the house opens up to a big deck, a three-acre yard, and a new gas grill.
Who Should Go (and When)
With plenty of land and a pool (complete with one of those floats that looks like a doughnut!), this place is perfect for families with little kids or groups of friends looking for a super-fun summer getaway.
What We'd Cook Here
If you've got tots in tow, take advantage of that new gas grill for burgers and brats— and don't forget your farmers market veggies. There's also an outdoor fire pit for late-night s'mores.
If you're planning a more sophisticated (read: adults only) soirée, kick things off with this surprisingly easy, but sure-to-impress starter.

Another Thing We Love
We love an open floor plan — especially when it comes to long weekends with friends. Everyone always ends up gathering in the kitchen anyway, but this house is so open and airy, people can sit at the dining table or in front of the fireplace and still be part of the action.
What to Instagram
That fireplace (either an actual fire or the fake deer head) is a good bet. If you snap something during the day, you should have decent lighting — this place has tons of windows, which means lighting will always be ideal.
