Why We Wanna Cook Here: We’re nostalgic for our barista days.

Who Should Go (and When)

Coffee-drinking artists should get here posthaste. You can go any time of year for any of the millions of activities happening in town — it’s three blocks from streetcar lines and sits at the intersection of the Lower Garden District, the Arts District, and the Central Business District.

What We’d Cook Here

This cool space is across the street from Dryades Market, where you should pick up some oysters for at-home eating.

Get all the oyster help you need: Crack, Slurp, Repeat: How To Shuck an Oyster

You also kinda have to make coffee. (What kind of fake temporary barista would you be if you didn’t put that French press to good use?)

Another Thing We Love

There’s so much, we can’t just list one thing! There’s the floating bed in the middle of the room, the giant garden with plenty of lounge furniture, and so much more.

What to Instagram

Get a shot of you behind the bar (or on it, depending on the kind of night you’re having). Also, go outside and get a picture of the weird (and slightly creepy) statutes of men dressed in bunny costumes. Do it! It’ll be fun.

When we travel we believe in staying in real homes as much as we can; to really taste a place means cooking local food in a local’s kitchen. We Wanna Cook Here is our series devoted to our favorite vacation rentals, each with a kitchen worth savoring.
