Why We Wanna Cook Here: Cozy morning vibes.

Okay, so you can’t really cook much in this tiny kitchen, but it has a mini fridge and a microwave, which means you can make bacon and eggs. And it’s a five-minute walk from shops, cafes, and restaurants in the Temescal neighborhood, making takeout a totally feasible option.

Who Should Go (and When)

It’s got WiFi, two patios, and plenty of charm, but not much else, so this is really a place for when you want to unwind and read a book or three. Go by yourself (solo travel is awesome) for a quiet getaway any time of year, but especially in late summer or early fall when temperatures peak at a comfortable 74°F.

What We’d Cook Here

Did we already mention microwave bacon and eggs? We did? Oh, then we’d also like to suggest a nice no-cook salad. Here are a few that come to mind.

Another Thing We Love

All that natural light! Even though the cottage is tiny, it doesn’t feel claustrophobic because there are plenty of windows and glass doors to brighten up the space. There’s also a gorgeously updated bathroom with a super-nice shower calling our name.

What to Instagram

Snap a pic of that wire taxidermy above the bed, a shot of your feet tangled up in the blankets, or your morning coffee in the backyard. No matter what, it’s sure to get some likes.

When we travel we believe in staying in real homes as much as we can; to really taste a place means cooking local food in a local’s kitchen. We Wanna Cook Here is our series devoted to our favorite vacation rentals, each with a kitchen worth savoring.
