Decorating cookies with royal icing is often saved exclusively for special occasions. It requires a ton of labor, with all the piping, decorating, and — you know — baking cookies in the first place. For me, it’s a lot of work, but for this talented artist, you can tell it’s a passion!

Watching her work in the video below is truly mesmerizing. I kept thinking it was done, but then — no — just one more petal here, and a garden of pretty little flowers there. And why not a delicate border to hold in a perfect lace panel?

I wish I had a fraction of the patience it would take to create something so intricate and beautiful! I bet it’s very therapeutic once you’ve really practiced it, but until then? Phew. My only fear is that I don’t think I’d be able to eat the cookie after putting so much work into decorating it! Could you?
