What Are Walmart’s Hours on Thanksgiving Day This Year?
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and it’s time to gather around the table with family and friends over a delicious meal. Whether you’re throwing a large feast for over 20 people or are having a more intimate Thanksgiving with just a few of your nearest and dearest, planning is crucial to make the meal a success.
Walmart has everything you need to create the perfect spread — from the decor, to the cooking utensils, to the food itself. But if you find yourself needing to grab a few extra plates for those unexpected guests, or some whipped cream to top that assortment of pies, will you be able to swing by Walmart on Thanksgiving Day for any last-minute needs?
This year, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 28, and Walmart will be closed for the holiday “so associates can spend the day with their families,” the store announced in a statement. So make sure you stock up on all your needs prior to turkey day.
Walmart also offers express and early morning delivery, so you can plan out exactly what you need and get it delivered straight to your doorstep ahead of time. If you have a Walmart+ membership, you’re in luck and can get even more perks such as contactless shopping, members-only pricing, and free delivery for orders over $35. (It’s not too late to sign up!)
Need some recipe inspiration or not sure where to start? Here at The Kitchn, we’ve rounded up every single Thanksgiving recipe you could ever need — from the turkey, to the stuffing, to the pumpkin pie. You could keep your bird classic, or venture out with a new technique and dry brine your turkey to get it extra juicy and flavorful. For those meat-lovers, why not go all out and cover the entire thing in bacon?
If you’re vegetarian like me (or simply not a turkey-lover), make this crowd-pleasing vegetarian Thanksgiving lasagna layered with butternut squash and a pumpkin crème fraîche sauce. (I’m sure even the meat-eaters will be asking for a piece.)
Walmart’s also offering its “inflation-free holiday meal” once again this year, featuring turkey, all the trimmings, and dessert for up to eight people at a value of less than $7 per person. So make those lists, do your shopping ahead of time, and you’ll be good to go.
