Who Knew? Walmart Roasts Coffee Beans To Order Before Delivery!
Walmart is our go-to for many things: kitchen appliances, groceries, smart storage and organization essentials, freshly roasted coffee… Yes, you read that right, the mega-retailer offers coffee beans roasted to order, which was a complete surprise to us, but we’re 100 percent here for it. Besides being convenient and affordable, here’s everything else you need to know about the service.
How it Works
It’s simple! Walmart currently sources freshly roasted coffee from two highly rated Colorado-based brands: Boca Java and Boulder Organic Coffee. Both work directly with local farmers around the world to source top-quality, single-origin beans. Once you pick your preferred flavor profile and place your order on Walmart’s site, the beans are roasted and the coffee is delivered to you. Fun fact: Both Boca Java and Boulder Organic Coffee only roast their beans on Mondays and Wednesdays and swiftly ship orders within 24 hours to ensure optimum freshness! It’s also worth noting that the beans are fair trade, USDA-certified organic and sustainably sourced, so you can sip your cup of joe guilt-free.
How to Order
There are currently over 40 blends and roasts to choose from. You can try fun flavors like Chocolate Hazelnut Heaven Flavored Ground Coffee and Espresso Contento Light Roast Ground Coffee or keep it simple (yet delicious) with Decaf Honduras Single Origin Light Roast Coffee and Ethiopia Sidamo Light Roast Coffee. Coffee is sold in individual 12-oz. bags (whole or ground beans), but you could also go for the Build a Bundle option, which lets you snag two bags from the same band or mix-and-match coffee from both Boca Java and Boulder Organic Coffee. As a coffee lover, this option instantly stood out because it’s a better value and lets me sample new flavors and roasts.
High Quality Yet Affordable
If you regularly buy freshly roasted coffee from high-quality roasters, you know those bags can quickly add up! Despite both coffee brands offering fresh beans that are sustainably sourced while supporting small farm owners, their prices are still affordable whether you opt for a single 12-oz. bag (starting at $8) or build your own bundle (starting at $16). So the next time you’re shopping Walmart for home and kitchen essentials, why not add a few bags of coffee to your cart?
