The toaster isn’t just meant for slices of bread. In fact, that toaster can actually be a clever way to make a quesadilla when you want one, especially when you don’t feel like having to pull out your skillet or griddle every time you want a quesadilla for lunch. Instead, this brilliant trick we discovered on the internet makes it even easier to enjoy a cheesy quesadilla in the afternoon — and all you need is a toaster.

Here’s how it works: Take a handful of your favorite shredded cheese and place it in the center of your tortilla. Take two sides of the tortilla and fold them into the center, kind of like you’re wrapping it. Then fold it in half the other way so all of the cheese is secure and you have a smaller pocket. Then transfer the pocket to the toaster, folded side down (don’t want the cheese to melt and burn in your toaster!) and toast until the quesadilla is golden and crispy. One cycle in the toaster will likely be enough. Then serve your quesadilla with your favorite pico de gallo or a batch of homemade guacamole.

@graceelkus if you didn’t know, now you know 😌 MY TIPS: ✨I’m using the TJ’s homestyle tortillas which toast up golden and crisp! ✨be sure to overlap the two sides of the tortilla so nothing spills into the toaster ✨if only one side gets toasty flip it around and toast again ✨it may take a little trial and error to find the exact tortilla size/timing that works best for your toaster cheese idea from @Cody Davidson; pb from @livewellthi 💕 #toasterhack #tortillahack ♬ Sunshine – Tundra Beats

This was also posted by @dailyoriginalvids, and foodies are loving this simple lunch hack. They also like to use this same trick to make their own quesadilla or sandwich combinations. Make it “pizza” flavored with a small dollop of marinara, mozzarella cheese, and slices of pepperoni. Make a buffalo chicken one with slices of cooked chicken, buffalo sauce, and a drizzle of ranch dressing. Make a ham and cheese with slices of ham, deli cheese, and maybe a dollop of Dijon mustard! This creative quesadilla hack is versatile, so feel free to get creative with all of the delicious lunch possibilities.
