Fall is officially here, and there’s nothing better than a melty sandwich to dip into your soup. Thanks to an ingenious idea trending from a creator on TikTok, with just a few pieces of Kings Hawaiian Rolls, cheddar, and a butter-garlic-herb mixture, you can churn out a bunch of gooey mini grilled cheeses with little effort.

Recently Cici Soriano, a creator who posts family-friendly recipes on the TikTok account @cici.soriano, released a super-simple hack for making a bunch of miniature grilled cheeses using one classic ingredient: Hawaiian Rolls. The video has racked up nearly 6.5 million views, and is the ideal easy-cooking project to try this fall.

In the TikTok clip, Soriano slices each Hawaiian roll lengthwise into three pieces. Then the recipe creator spreads garlic and parsley butter on each side before placing a piece of cheddar between the two slices. After that, they grill the sandwich on both sides in a skillet until the cheese melts and the crust turns golden-brown.

Soriano proceeds to dip each mini grilled cheese in a warm bowl of tomato soup, noting that this recipe is perfect for “lunch” or a “game-day appetizer.”

TikTok users raced to the comments to share how ingenious this recipe is. One person commented, “Spectacular, give me 14 of them,” while another user mentioned, “I love these! One of my favorite meals is tomato soup and grilled cheese! From now on, I’m making mini grilled cheese.”

Soriano also posted a recipe for mini French toasts using Hawaiian rolls. In the clip, they follow a similar process and dredge the slices in a creamy cinnamon batter before pan-frying and topping them with syrup, proving how versatile the pantry staple is.
