Travel can be expensive. Along with flights and lodging, you have to foot the bill for your food, which can quickly add up — especially if you’re staying in a hotel that doesn’t have a kitchen to whip up meals. One guy’s clever solution to save money on food while traveling? Cooking his own dinner in a hotel-room coffee pot

Recently, Alexander Cohen shared his own spin on in-room dining with his LinkedIn followers. “I’m traveling for work and instead of eating a fancy dinner out, I’ve decided to cook a cheaper meal in the hotel room,” he wrote. “Even though the hotel room didn’t have a kitchen, I managed to cook chicken with butter and garlic.”

Apparently, Cohen’s goal was to save his company money on travel expenses, and hopefully get himself a promotion. While some of Cohen’s followers expressed how grossed out they were, others saw the post as an opportunity to share their own work travel food hacks. One guy apparently cooked BBQ on an iron to save his company money, and another claims he fried an egg on his hot laptop.

While it’s not clear whether Cohen (or anybody involved) is being serious (he runs a meme account on Twitter) take this trending post as your routine reminder to thoroughly clean out your hotel room’s coffee pot before brewing a cup of joe. Even if nobody cooked a gourmet meal inside it, you never know how often it gets a deep clean. Better safe than sorry!
