Name: 2004 Nalle Zinfandel
Region: Dry Creek Valley, California
Want to splurge on a really great bottle of wine? Then run out now and pick up the 2004 Nalle Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel.
Nalle Winery is about as cool as it gets in Sonoma County. Located in the Dry Creek Valley, just south of Healdsburg, the Nalle property has been in the family since 1927. This small, family owned and operated winery is open to the public. If you stop by, they will gladly pour you a glass of their delicious wine.
Doug Nalle has been producing small lots of wine since 1984, specializing in handcrafted, off the beaten track styles that showcase finesse and terroir rather than alcohol and power.
The 2004 Zinfandel is a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Carignane, Alicante Bouchet and Gamay. Medium bodied with raspberry/blackberry fruit, rich tannins, a deep, luscious color and elegance. This wine makes me love Zinfandel, which is out of character for me!
If you want a mind blowing experience, barbecue some ribs, chicken or beef and pair it with this wine.
The winery chooses a select list of retailers to sell their wine; lucky for those of us in New York, we have one in Manhattan at Astor Wines. Those in LA can find it at Wine House. You can also purchase it direct from Nalle.
