Use Coffee Filters As Disposable Plates At Work

When we're eating on the go or at work we tend to nibble, requiring us to set our food down from time to time. But where? If you're not into making your own reusable pouch, try keeping a stash of coffee filters on hand to act as a plate, pastry holder or anything else that starts with the letter "p" — pizza anyone?

In an office environment it's quite often outside snacks are brought in. Instead of picking up a giant paper plate or paper towel, try using a coffee filter instead. They're lightweight, ridiculously inexpensive, and they catch crumbs, grease, pitch and seeds from any lunch snacks you might be munching on.

They also work great to hold foods when you're on the go, plus they dissolve easily in a landfill, so there's very little eco-guilt involved in the process. An added bonus is their ability to hold warm things (say a steamy egg and cheese biscuit) without them getting soggy.

Plus, if you run short of tea bags you can always staple up some loose leaf tea (because we all keep that in our desk drawers right?) and brew yourself an impromptu cup.
