Until recently, buying home goods in person at Urban Outfitters has mostly been limited to small accessories like our favorite 10 grown-up kitchen goodies and a narrow selection of textiles like a throw pillow or two. Maybe a chair here and there.
Luckily, Urban is changing the game, as the brand unveils what's being called UO Home.
Larger furniture pieces are now on display in the new home-only showrooms that have been established in eight cities across the country from Los Angeles to New York. (Full list: Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles, New York, Cambridge, San Francisco, Montreal, and Toronto.) Now, city dwellers can touch, sit on, or at least see bigger items in real life before they figure out how to get the thing through their front door.
Don't happen to live near one of these cities? You're not out of luck, as "favorite pieces from UO Home's popular online assortment can now be found in every Urban Outfitters store across North America, showcasing the best bedding, tapestries, rugs, soft seating, as well as small furniture pieces." So it won't be everything, but you'll see more than you used to.
Before this, most of the small-space-friendly home decor items were only available as online exclusives. Such a bummer, right? Taking a chance on pricier home essentials can leave anyone feeling skeptical if they haven't seen items like dining chairs, bedding, or even full dinnerware sets in person. (There's a reason so many people seek out Urban Outfitters reviews or word-of-mouth praise of big-ticket items!) Of course, all these items are surrounded by the beloved accessories that have been around since the beginning.
Oh, and for those of you who lack vision, the new UO Home showrooms have perfectly curated home displays to really give you a feel of the small-space living the brand offers.
