Urban Harvest is Slow Food USA‘s festive tribute to the farmers, artisans, and chefs who are changing the way food is grown, produced, and consumed in New York City and the region. This Sunday Slow Food will be honoring those who have the craftsmanship and dedication required to provide us with foods that are delicious, ecologically sustainable, and humanely produced.

New York City Municipal Building Arcade
1 Centre Street, New York City (J,M,Z to Chambers, 4,5,6 to Brooklyn Bridge or N,R to City Hall)
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Why “New Amsterdam Market”? Before there was “New York” there was “New Amsterdam” which included what became New York State, New Jersey, Vermont, and western Massachusetts and Connecticut. The market honors food producers who come from the far corners of New Amsterdam’s former hinterlands. Artisanal cheeses, wines, pickles and preserves, heirloom apples and hand crafted ciders, grass-fed meats, pastured poultry – what better way to spend your Sunday?

The marketplace will be free and open to the public. Market vendors and NYC chefs will also sell tasting plates made with seasonal, regional ingredients. Tasting tickets are available: $20 for 6 tickets. Click here to purchase tickets.
