Umbra’s New Spoon Has a Special Function: Can You Guess What It Is?
A spoon is a spoon, no? At first glance, Umbra’s newest spoon looks ordinary: a basic wooden spoon with a black handle. But it actually has another purpose altogether. Care to take a guess?
Frustrated with cooking in the kitchen with his iPad and ending up with a messy screen afterward, designer Jordan Murphy created the iSpoon — part spoon, part silicone stylus for your tablet! He thought it was the best way to keep the screen clean without cluttering up the countertop with extra tools.
I like the idea, but I don’t think an integrated tool like this automatically ensures you’re not going to get your tablet screen messy. If you’re really using the spoon as a spoon, it’ll probably have food on it, which could drip down onto the stylus part. But maybe I’m nitpicking. It’s bound to be better than trying to navigate with oily fingers!
