Picture this: It’s a warm, sunny day, and you’ve got a backyard barbecue to attend later on. You want to bring something refreshing and a little bit boozy. Do you mix up a pitcher of strawberry-basil margaritas? Make some Campari-citrus popsicles?

While those are both viable options, I’ve got a new party-friendly treat for you to add to your repertoire: vodka-infused melon balls.

This really couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is use a melon baller to scoop your favorite types of melon — watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe — into balls; cover with a mixture of vodka, pear juice, and coconut sugar; and let it all sit for two hours in the refrigerator. You have the option of adding fresh mint and basil to this mixture as well, which I highly recommend.

Once the melon balls have been sufficiently infused with the vodka, they’re ready to enjoy in all their slightly sweet, boozy glory.
