Now that I’ve moved into a kitchen that’s less than half the size of my old one, I have to be selective about which items I keep. Since I settled in, I’ve started giving away all of the extra gadgets and cookware that aren’t absolutely essential. It hurts, but it has to be done. Now, I’m prioritizing things that can serve multiple purposes, like my Le Creuset pasta bowls that double as plates.

Another piece of multifunctional kitchen gear that I’ll never get rid of? Tupperware’s Ultimate Silicone Stand-Up Bag. I’ve been a Tupperware fan for a while now — its popcorn maker and fruit storage bin also live in my tiny kitchen — and this one might be my most-used product from the brand. Sure, it’s simple, but it can handle a ton of tasks, from food storage to steaming veggies to traveling. (That’s right: It’s the perfect toiletry bag!) Read on to find out why you need this $23 gem, too.

What Is the Tupperware Ultimate Silicone Stand-Up Bag?

According to Tupperware’s former product and culinary expert, the brand’s high-quality plastic can last for a lifetime when treated right. In fact, some people even pass their Tupperware containers down to the next generation. I can see this silicone bag holding up just as long. It’s made of high-grade silicone that’s FDA-approved and free of chemicals like BPA, lead, and latex. It also offers a leak-proof seal that’ll prevent any spills or messes, which is ideal if you plan to put it in the microwave, oven, or freezer. Yep, the material can withstand temperatures as cold as -13°F to as hot as 425°F (!).

Why I Love the Tupperware Ultimate Silicone Stand-Up Bag

I’ve been meaning to make the switch from disposable to reusable bags for a while now, and after using Tupperware’s, I’m already planning on grabbing more. I was doubtful of the leak-proof claims at first, but I should’ve known better than to doubt such an iconic brand. I filled the interior nearly all the way up with water and gave it several good shakes, but it was going nowhere. The seal has also made it a faultless food storage bag for when I want to take a sandwich or snack to the park, and when it isn’t in use in the kitchen, I’ve grabbed it to hold some makeup on the go. No matter what, I know I can rely on it to keep everything secure and mess-free. When I want to use it again for food, all I have to do is turn the bag inside out and give it a quick wash. Then, it’s good as new!

I’ve even used the bag to steam veggies like green beans and broccoli in the microwave. They’ve turned out just right every single time. Plus, even right out of the microwave, the material isn’t too hot to hold. Considering that it’s a sustainable swap and can be used for so many things, the $23 price is hardly anything. Plus, I know that they’ll likely never need to be replaced! That’s a steal in my book.
