Here's a recipe from our stack of to-try recipes: lacy noodle crisps from Gourmet. These beautiful lacy decorations and snacks are just made of fried rice noodles, those staples of Asian markets and Thai cooking.
We haven't tried them out yet, but apparently all you do is take rice-stick noodles (rice vermicelli), soak until soft, then let them dry a little. Then you fry until crisp and season with powdered sugar and salt.
They can even be made ahead of time and stored in a closed container.
We're dying to try this - think of the pretty decorations for summer ice cream or spring fruit. Anyone ever done this?
