Tristan Thompson’s Luxe Los Angeles Home Has One of the Coziest Kitchens You’ll Ever See
Former NBA Finals champion, Tristan Thompson, just purchased a new home and besides being just a stone’s throw away from his ex-partner, Khloé Kardashian, the estate also set him back a pretty penny. Located in the guard-gated community of Hidden Hills, California, the estate sits on a 1.39-acre lot that was newly built in 2010. Inspired by traditional East Coast residences, the home — which was originally owned by car dealership mogul Howard Keyes of Van Nuys, California — set Thompson back $12.5 million on top of an almost $9 million mortgage.
Keyes did not stay in the residence very long (reportedly only staying between 2014 and 2017), leaving it to sit vacant while prices fluctuated between $8.7 and $10.7 million with no buyers in sight. Fast forward to present day, however, with home values in Hidden Hills exploding, the estate was re-listed for a whopping $13 million, garnering the inevitable attention of Thompson.
To say the least, this is a beautifully traditional home. Boasting six bedrooms and over eight-and-a-half bathrooms, the 10,000-square-foot mansion is a true work of art. Starting with the extra large motor court in the front yard, guests are led to the front door by three flights of stone stairs. Once inside, a double-height foyer can be found with checkerboard-designed black and white stone floors and a beautiful crystal chandelier hanging above. Brown hardwood floors lead you throughout the residence, with the living room, formal dining room, and temperature-controlled wine closet all connected as such.
The full service chef’s kitchen is perhaps the shining feature though, with two massive islands breaking apart the space, and plenty of countertop and storage throughout. Other notable features include a double wide refrigerator, floor-to-ceiling white painted cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a walk-in butler’s pantry. Large sliding doors lead you to the adjacent family room which then open up to the open walled loggia for guest and family entertainment.
A library, billiard room with a wet bar, hexagonal breakfast room, movie theater, maid’s quarters, and an attached five-car garage can also all be found on the main floor of the premises.
Once upstairs, the master bedroom can be found with two dedicated sitting areas and a private balcony to boot. The dual master baths feature large soaking tubs and plenty of natural light while also connecting to large dual dressing rooms.
The view from the balcony highlights the rose garden-lined backyard, with mature trees and large grassy lawns throughout. A brand new covered cabana with fireplace, full service barbecue center, and basketball court all round out the perks of Thompson’s new home, making it one truly fit for a star.
